After many trips to Ikea (love it) we found some simple furnishings that could serve us until we bought our own place.  It was lots of fun because we needed everything so we all pitched in and helped make this house a home.

The kids turned out to be great builders!

A real bed for Matthew!!

Maddie's room was a challenge, it was an attic and was converted with dark wood paneling that was cracked and chipped (dark & very gloomy).  It would have been a nightmare to paint, so we found some inexpensive muslin at a fabric store and some colored banners from Ikea and transformed it into this for less than $100!!

Now she has a real bed too!!

A temporary bed for Mom & Dad.  We're holding out for a king size number!

Slowly but surely it came together.

Now for some friends...

We found a great homeschool community here in Austin.  We meet with these folks and play soccer twice a week.  The coolest part is we all play together, moms, dads, toddlers and teens!!

It was too cold for me to play this day, but I enjoyed it nonetheless!

This was some big excitement in the neighborhood, and no, this isn't supposed to be a drivethru!

Poor Matthew sliced himself up pretty good while drying dishes.  He's all healed now and is happy that he has some gnarly scars to show off.

Maddie and Matthew head off to swim practice at UT.
