We pulled into Bellingham, Washington in time to enjoy the 4th West Coast style! Early in the day we took the ferry and checked out nearby Lummi Island.
But first we had to wait in line.
Who knew Ted Nugent owned an island? After checking out the island we packed a picnic dinner and went back to Bellingham to get a good spot for viewing the fireworks.
The park started filling up a couple of hours before dark.
The weather, however, looked ominous...oh yes, it rained. Luckily, the Extreme Family is ready for anything!
At least Jim and Matthew were.
Maddie and Cindy preferred hot mochas in the Jeep.
It was a beautiful night despite the weather.
OOOHH-AHHHHH!!!
Afterwards we did a quick tour through Idaho and headed back towards California to spend some time in Yosemite.
On the way we stopped at Boomtown in Nevada. They were renovating the resort and arcade. Of course Matthew found the dumpsters full of old machinery and fixtures.
"Dad, check it out there's cool stuff in here!"
"Matt, get out of there...your mom's going to kill you"
"Hey, you're right....there's good stuff in here!" Needless to say, we now have our own set of miniature golf clubs and lots of other cool electronic gizmos.
Finally, Yosemite!
It was as pretty as we'd heard it was.
The Jeep liked it too! The kids couldn't wait for the Kellys to visit...
"Ok little fella, this is how you put up a tent". Yeah!! The Kellys are here!!
We ate, drank, laughed and just had some fun in the sun. Our neighbor brought over his exotic, part snow-lynx type cat!
I think he just wanted to talk to the girls.
It was a very relaxing month.
The Kellys brought home their bus shortly after we arrived back in San Jose. Time get to work and pimp that bus!
